10. Creating web pages from Office packages

Creating a Web page in WordWeb pages are written in HTML. There are a number of ways to create a web page.

This is probably the most straight forward method. You create a page in your favourite wordprocessing, spreadsheet or presentation package,

Then you use File -> Save As -> Web Page as shown here.

The application will then create the web page and give it an extension of HTM or HTML

Disadvantages
No need to know anything about HTML

Can only create a basic page
Most people are familiar with Office software and they can create a web page very easily using this method

The size of the .HTM files tend to be larger than other choices and so are slower to download.
 

Cannot create multi-page website
