Many documents benefit from having pictures as well as words.
A good word processing package will include features to help you lay out text and images on the page.
Images can be added to your documents to bring interest and to help illustrate points you are making.
Some word processing applications allow you to quickly add a variety of effects to your images, such as a drop shadow.
This saves you from having to be an expert at using graphics editing packages.
