7. Common graphics tools cont.
Eraser tool
If you want to remove the colour from some pixels, then you can do so using the eraser tool. As you skim over the pixels, they become transparent. If you have another layer lying beneath the current one, then those pixels show through.
Line tool
It is very hard to draw straight lines with the pencil and paintbrush because you tend to draw wobbly lines with the mouse. The line tool makes it much easier to draw lines by simply single clicking the start point and single clicking the end point. A line is automatically drawn between the two.
Eye-dropper tool
This is a very handy tool to pick up on a colour from an image. You hover the eye dropper over the area and single click. Whatever colour lies underneath the dropper becomes the new foreground or background colour.
Colour picker
Normally you work with a 'foreground' colour and a 'background' colour. The colouring tools such as pencil use these colours. In order to change colour, there will be a colour picker tool. This usually shows a grid or shaded area that you use to pick the colour you want.
