A microprocessor is normally a single chip such as the one shown opposite.
They are found inside the CPU in all computers, laptops, netbooks, tablets and so on.
However, they are also found embedded in many other electronic devices that you are likely to use, be it in your home, workplace, school or everyday life.
Microprocessors vary in size and processing power but essentially they all perform the same function, to process data and instructions in order to ensure that the device works as intended.
