1. Introduction

You will be given a scenario in your Functional Skills exam and then asked to complete a set of tasks related to that scenario.

One of the most important things that you are going to have to do very quickly is to choose the most appropriate software to use in order to complete each of the tasks.

Sometimes it is obvious which software you need to use but for some tasks e.g. making a business card, you might consider two or three different applications. You need to instinctively know which is the right one to use for the task in front of you.

Over the next few pages we will look at the most appropriate software for different types of tasks.
