Smart Card
A smart card is a small plastic card (the size of a credit card). It has an embedded microchip which can be used to store data such as a money balance.
The card can be used to make electronic payments for things such as telephone calls, photocopying, canteen lunches etc. The card is inserted into a device which can read it and deduct the payment from the money balance on the card.
