Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)

LCD is a type of display used in many portable computers.

LCD works by two sheets of polarizing material with a liquid crystal surface sandwiched in between. An electric current is passed through the liquid, causing the crystals to turn dark. A light source is passed through the crystals creating the display on the screen.
