Intranet
An Intranet is a private network within a company and it is only available to staff or members of the organisation.
An Intranet uses the same kind of software which would also be found on the internet. It is usually hosted on the companies own web servers.
Employees are able to log onto the network and see the company web pages. They are able to navigate around in the same way as they could on the Internet using hyperlinks and menus.
Intranets usually contain information related to the company, for example, policies, procedures, rules, contact lists, social events, newsletters etc.
