A flash memory chip is made up of millions or thousand of millions of electronic cells. Each cell can store a single bit. With the correct software driver installed, a computer can read and write data into flash memory.
Flash memory comes in many different forms such as the popular USB memory stick, thumb drive and solid state hard disks.
