Digital Projector
Sometimes called a 'Multimedia Projector', a digital projector allows a computer screen to be displayed on a wall or screen. Digital projectors can also be used to display video from DVD players and other multimedia devices.
The projector is connected to the computer with a standard video cable.
There are two types of digital projector commonly available:
DLP
"Digital Light Processor". this technology is owned by Texas Instruments and works by having thousands of tiny mirrors on a silicon chip tilting back and forth under the control of the video signal. Each mirror displays a single pixel.
LCD
Liquid crystal Display. This type of projector passes Red, Green and Blue light through three lcd panels. Each panel controls the light passing through it. The three lights are then combined to produce the full colour image.
