Defrag
A hard disk term. Short for Defragmentation.
Files are stored on a hard disk in 'small segments' and a hidden table on the hard disk keeps track of which segment belongs to which file. As the hard disk fills up, files begin to be stored in segments far away from each other. This eventually causes the system to slow down as the hard disk struggles to put a file back together again.
So an utility called a "degfragger" will arrange the file segments neatly next to each other, so speeding up file access once more.
