Automatic Data Capture
A data-logging term.
Data capture is the process of collecting a set of data, ready for processing by a computer.
Automatic data capture means a device has been designed to gather the data unattended. For example an electronic data logger can collect data for any period of time without someone being present. See also Automatic Input Devices in the GCSE Input Devices section
