7. Body movement sensing
This development started off with the Nintendo Wii. They developed a hand held sensor that could detect your arm movements whilst playing. They call it the 'Nunchuck' or Wii Remote
These moves then translate to an action on-screen.
This was a sensation, as up until that time, only the traditional game pads were in use.
There are now devices coming into market that are even more advanced.
PlayStation Move. This is dedicated to adding movement sensing to the Playstation
Whilst there is the even more sophisticated Kinect sensor for the XBox. With this in front of the television, you can stand and wave, jump, dance about and it picks up the movement of legs, arms and body without you having to hold anything. The system can even recognise you as a player and automatically allocate the right player for you.
