6. Storage
Information often needs to be stored on the system for use at a later date.
The information might be stored at any stage in the process, for example:
- after the data has been input into the system it might be stored without any further processing taking place
- the data might be processed to produce information and then stored without being produced as an output for the user
- the output stage e.g. films stored on DVDs
